After years of visiting this restaurant, I am finally here, writing a review for them. Well, the thought of writing reviews for every place I went haven't come to mind till the recent years. I often feel that they offer comfort food at this restaurant. I enjoy the friendly neighborhood vibe, a diner that offer comfortable seating, and most importantly, 9 out of 10 times, their food is exactly what I crave for. I love breakfast food, its my go-to comfort, either I am happy or sad. They have a good, simple selection of breakfast brunch dishes, which is good, sometimes I do not care for a menu that is 10 pages long. They also offer great sandwiches, pasta, and many other options to what you might desire. I definitely suggest anyone to stop in if they want to get some comfort food.
Very cool OG comfort food. Inside has the classic mid century diner vibe. I got the chilaquiles plate, my kid got the French toast combo #3. Super friendly and efficient staff.
We had a wonderful dinner here tonight! We loved everything we had, especially a special they had due to the upcoming holiday, their Thanksgiving Sandwich, as well as a classic cheeseburger. We held the thousand island on the burger and added mustard, and received a beautifully cooked, great size, juicy patty on a fresh tasting bun. The bun wasn’t too dense, overall the ingredients and prep of both sandwiches just worked so well. We were really impressed. Chili had great flavor and seasoning, with nice accompaniments (diced white onion, sour cream, and a little portion of homemade garlic bread). Everything seemed high quality. We sat at the bar and watched many dishes on their way to other diners, and what we saw had us salivating. Will be back! One last thing, the vibe is amazing. If you love a retro diner feel you’ll love this place. It felt very Route 66, if that makes sense.
Had an excellent breakfast in Pasadena at a classic old school California coffee shop called Shakers. Loved my Southern fried steak & eggs. Biscuits & sausage gravy is included and it was a lot of food. Tasty gravy, full of flavor. I was almost able to finish it all. My friend said his Belgian waffle was perfectly cooked, crispy outside and fluffy tender within. If it was only closer I'd be there often.
"Shakers did not disappoint! The enchiladas were delicious and the portion was generous. Loved that they came with potatoes too. The coffee was perfectly balanced, not too strong, not too light. Definitely coming back!" Want me to tweak the tone at all?
