This was my first visit to Thairapy for a Deva/Curly Cut and Style, and honestly… it was such a great experience. I’m finally starting to embrace my natural curls for the first time in my life, especially now that my hair texture has changed in my 30s. I’ve always wanted to love my hair, but those straight, flat ends were holding me back. After going back and forth for weeks (because yes, it’s definitely an investment), I finally booked with Alexis—and I’m so happy I did. She really took the time to listen to my hair struggles and made me feel so understood. She also taught me so much about how to actually care for my curls, from products to techniques, and explained everything step by step as she went. We started with a consultation, then a dry cut, followed by a wash and styling. The best part was how she walked me through every single step so I could actually recreate the look at home. Because let’s be real—so many of us leave the salon loving our hair but have no idea how to make it look that way again on our own. Alexis made sure that wouldn’t be the case for me, and I really appreciated that. She even followed up after my appointment with the same tips we talked through. She’s so thorough, patient, and genuinely cares about making sure you leave feeling confident and set up for success. It truly felt worth the splurge. If you’ve been struggling with your curls or just don’t know where to start, book the appointment—you deserve to love your hair!

I came in for a curly cut with Alexis and she took great care of me! 10/10! I was in town for a vacation and desperately needed a haircut. I was a bit nervous trusting a new stylist with my hair but the breakage I had in my hair, plus how dry it felt pushed me to get a haircut somewhere new. Alexis put me at ease from the moment I sat in her chair. I really appreciated that before jumping to cut my hair, she took the time to talk with me and assess my hair. At other salons I’ve been to, this little consult lasts maybe 3 minutes max, but I feel like Alexis really took her time to hear how I wanted to keep my length, what I wanted to do with my front pieces, and then made suggestions that made sense with my goals. At the bowl, I learned so many new techniques that I could incorporate into my routine! I thought I had a pretty good curly hair routine but I learned a lot about what was causing the breakage in my hair (heavy products) and Alexis made great recommendations about alternative products I could use. All in all, I would highly recommend visiting Thairapy and getting your hair done with Alexis. She will take great care of you and make sure you leave looking and feeling cute :) not to mention that the salon is beautiful and the other stylists are very nice!

I came here a couple weeks ago for my first ever curly cut. I was nervous because I have been blow drying my hair straight for most of my life with stylists telling me my hair was just “frizzy” , not wavy/curly. The salon was super clean and all the staff were very warm and friendly. Alexis was my stylist and she was amazing (shout out to Tati who was assisting as well). They were so patient, taught me specifically what type of wavy hair I do have, which type of products work best and what to avoid. There was no hard sell on products, just really educating me. They taught me how to wash and style it and were so great with all the advice and showing me what they were doing. I left feeling like I have a shot at being able to replicate what they were doing. My hair looks amazing too. My family wanted to go out when I got home so I could show off the hair! Separately, she followed up with a text about everything we discussed that day so I didn't forget anything and I can refer back to it anytime. That has helped a lot in the weeks that followed to get used to embracing my wavy hair. Thanks Alexis. See you in a few months for my next haircut. ( Note: I will be driving an hour each way to see her because yes, she is that good).

I came in because my hair had changed so much post partum. I had no idea what it was doing or how to work with it. I had a lot of hair loss and a ton of new growth, and very dry hair. Alexis was brave and took on the challenge to figure out what my hair was doing. I loved that they take into account what you are willing to do not just what should be done for the better health of your hair. My favorite part of the entire experience was that Alexis took the time at the bowl to show me how to wash, condition and style it all myself. I wS literally handed a mirror so that I could see exactly what was being done so that I could replicate it at home. She even followed up with instructions for me to take home. My hair doesn't grow much, so I was afraid of cutting it, but Alexis was kind and reassured me that she could cut less, but also shared with me what that may do to my hair and how that could possibly affect my hair goals. The education portion of it all allowed me to make a confident decision. I loved the result. Who would have known that I now have wavy hair. Thank you Alexis! I love my new hair. I will be bringing my mom in soon.

She took the time to understand my vision, asked thoughtful questions, and used her expertise to create exactly the look I wanted. Throughout the appointment, she clearly explained every step, making me feel comfortable and confident in her care. What impressed me most was how she educated me on maintaining my curls with personalized tips and easy-to-follow advice. The curly cut and style exceeded all my expectations—four days later, my curls are still defined, balanced, and looking amazing. I’ve been getting compliments ever since!
